Water Resources Engineering Scholarship, The Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Environment) advertises a fully funded 3-year PhD position in water resources engineering. The project is co-funded by the Sino-Danish University Center (SDC) and includes a compulsory research stay of at least 9 months at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The research topic and the collaborative relationships with the Chinese partners will be defined in more detail with the successful candidate. Potential focus areas include arsenic contamination of natural groundwater and hydroeconomic modeling and optimization.

Responsibilities and tasks:
The successful candidate will have a background in earth and environmental sciences/engineering. The candidate will focus on selected water resources management problems in the Chinese context and will spend at least 9 months out of the 3 years in China, being affiliated with one CAS institute. The candidate is expected to contribute to teaching the SDC MSc program “Water and Environment” in Beijing. Willingness to travel and work in an international environment is essential. The candidate will work in a team consisting of scientists from DTU Environment and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Familiarity with Danish and Chinese water resources research environments is an advantage.

Qualifications:
Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering.

Approval and Enrolment:
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.
