Scholarship Description: Ørsted is offering three MSc scholarships of up to £6000 at Durham University in the UK. Scholarships are available to UK and EU students. The MSc in New and Renewable Energy is designed to equip our graduates with the skills required to meet the growing challenge to achieve energy and environmental sustainability through the application of new and renewable energy technologies. The MSc Energy and Society course, in association with the Durham Energy Institute, is an innovative postgraduate programme designed to appeal across the disciplines.


Scholarship Provider: Durham University is a collegiate public research university in Durham, North East England, with a second campus in Stockton-on-Tees. The university is currently ranked 4th to 6th by recent national league tables of the British universities and in the top 100 in three of the four major global tables.


Degree Level: Scholarships are available to pursue MSc programme.


Available Subject: The two courses available, an MSc in Energy and Society and an MSc in New and Renewable Energy, both at Durham University, will begin in October 2018.


Scholarship benefits: Up to £18,000 available for energy Masters of Science (MSc) students at Durham University.


Eligible nationalities: Scholarships are available to UK and EU students.


Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:


To be admitted to the MSc programme in New and Renewable Energy, you need the equivalent of a UK Honours degree to at least an upper second class standard. This should normally be in an appropriate Engineering or Engineering-related subject including modules in electrical engineering and/or thermodynamics although in some instances we can consider industrial or other relevant experience if you have a different first degree.


If you are an international student who does not meet the requirements for direct entry to this degree, you may be eligible to take a pre-Masters pathway programme at the Durham University International Study Centre.

Application Procedure: The deadline for Ørsted scholarship applications is 15th July 2018. By the deadline, candidates must have completed a Durham University MSc application and have sent a 400-500 word supporting a statement of why they should be considered for a scholarship.
