New Zealand Excellence Scholarships Victoria University of Wellington 2014

Victoria University of Wellington offers 400 excellence scholarships for school leavers in New Zealand. Students must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolling in any of Victoria University’s Bachelor degree programmes. International fee-paying students are also eligible to apply for the scholarship if they have completed at least one full year at a New Zealand secondary school by the time of application. The award is worth up to $5,000, (up to 20 $10,000 scholarships will be available on academic merit). The application deadline is 15 September 2014.

• The purpose of the scholarship is to recruit high-achieving undergraduate students to Victoria University of Wellington and to support them in their studies. We will award 400 scholarships for study in 2014. This will be done competitively on the basis of academic merit. The majority of these scholarships will be awarded at $5,000 for the first year of study. The top 20 applicants will be awarded the new Victoria Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships, valued at $20,000 over three years of study.


• Scholarships are awarded to learn any of the courses offered by the Victoria University.


• Scholarships are available for pursuing doctoral or PhD degree at Victoria University.


• Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand is providing these scholarships


• 400 scholarships are offered.


• Scholarships are offered for three years.


• Scholarship has a value of $5,000 (with up to 20 scholarships valued at $20,000 over three years).


• This will be done competitively on the basis of academic merit.


• Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by mid-October.

Eligibility: -Applicants with NCEA Certificate Level 2 or above endorsed with Excellence are encouraged to apply. The excellence credits must have been obtained in Year 11 or 12; credits gained beyond Year 12 cannot be counted.
-Students with an equivalent level of achievement in an alternative qualification (eg. IB, CIE) will also be considered. See the regulations for more information.
-International fee-paying students who have completed at least one full year at a New Zealand secondary school are eligible to apply.
