Scholarship Description: Centre for Health Economics at University of York is offering Calling for expressions of interest in Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowships competition for the year 2018. Researchers of any nationality can apply.

Scholarship Provider: Founded in 1983 and as one of the first university departments of its type, the Centre for Health Economics is a leading influence on UK health policy, helping shape the way society thinks about health and health care. The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) is a world renowned institute that produces policy relevant research and innovative methods that advance the use of health economics to improve population health.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Degree Level: Fellowships are available to pursue research.

Available Subject: CHE operates across all areas of health economics, with a particular emphasis on methodological thinking and high policy impact. The Centre’s research is organized into seven broad themes

Scholarship Benefits: The grant provides an allowance to cover living, travel and family costs. In addition, the EU contributes to the training, networking and research costs of the fellow, as well as to the management and indirect costs of the project. The grant is awarded to the host organisation, usually a university, research centre or a company in Europe.

Eligible Nationalities: Researchers can be of any nationality.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

Applications are welcomed from experienced researchers only, i.e. you must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years equivalent research experience. Researchers can be of any nationality; however, at the date of the deadline (12/09/2018), they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the UK for more than 12 months in the preceding three years. Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

Application Procedure: Expressions of interest should be sent to Trish Smith (trish.smith-at-york.ac.uk) by 1pm (GMT) on 21 May 2018. The expression of interest should consist of the following:

  • A copy of your CV (following the Marie-Curie Individual Fellowship guidelines – see p. 39 of the guide available here)

  • A two-page outline of the proposed research project, including a brief discussion of motivation, methods and data.
