JSPS Invitation Fellowships for International Applicants in Japan 2015

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is offering research fellowships for the researchers of all countries having diplomatic relations with Japan. JSPS conducts two programs (a short- and long-term program) under the Invitation Fellowship heading. These programs are intended to help advance the overseas researchers’ research activities while promoting science and internationalization in Japan. Up to 70 long term and 210 short term fellowships will be awarded (110 for Short-term 1st Recruitment and 100 for 2nd Recruitment). A few fellowships will be also awarded for Short-term S 1st Recruitment and 2nd Recruitment. Applications for this program must be submitted to JSPS by a host researcher in Japan through the head of his/her university or institution.

• All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under this program.


• Fellowships are available for carrying out research through long-term and short- term visits.

• The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) carries out programs that provide overseas researchers who have an excellent record of research achievements with an opportunity to conduct collaborative research, discussions, and opinion exchanges with researchers in Japan. These programs are intended to help advance the overseas researchers’ research activities while promoting science and internationalization in Japan.

Eligibility:

• International applicants (a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan) can apply for these Invitation Fellowships.

The application deadline for 1st recruitment (Long-term, Short-term and Short-term S) is September 1, 2014 and applications for 2nd recruitment (Short-term and Short-term S) will be accepted from May 8 (Tue) till April 28, 2015.
