Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for Postgraduate Taught Scholarships in Birmingham Business School for students joining us in September 2018. International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Provider: The University of Birmingham is a public research university located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom.

If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available to the postgraduate taught programme.

Available Subject: The University has a number of scholarships available for students joining us in September 2018 on the following programmes:

• MSc International Business (full-time UK-based courses only)


• MSc International Accounting and Finance (including all associated pathways)


• MSc Management (including all associated pathways)

Scholarship Benefits: Open scholarships: Scholarships’ available worth £5,000 each for candidates.

Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarships: Scholarships’, each worth £10,000, for candidates.

Number of Scholarships: Up to 20 ‘open scholarships’ available and 10 ‘Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarships are available.

Eligible Nationalities: International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

We have 20 ‘open scholarships’ available worth £5,000 each for candidates applying to any of the three programmes listed above. In order to be eligible to apply, you must fulfill all of the following criteria:

• Already have, or expect to receive, a first or upper second class honours degree (2.i) or equivalent


• Already hold an offer from the University of Birmingham to start a full-time programme in MSc International Business, MSc Management or MSc International Accounting and Finance in September 2018

The Student shall not be eligible for any further discount to the tuition fee through any other scheme should a Student receive one of these Scholarships.

Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarships

We will also be offering 10 ‘Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarships’, each worth £10,000, for candidates applying to any of the three programmes listed above. In order to be eligible to apply, you must fulfil all of the following criteria:

• Be classed as an overseas student for fees purposes


• Already have, or expect to receive, a first-class honours degree or equivalent


• Already hold an offer from the University of Birmingham to start a full-time programme in MSc International Business, MSc Management or MSc International Accounting and Finance in September 2018

The Student shall not be eligible for any further discount to the tuition fee through any other scheme should a Student receive one of these Scholarships.

Application Procedure: You must complete and submit our scholarship application form no later than midnight on Sunday 29 April 2018. Decisions will be made no later than Friday 15 June 2018.

The scholarship application form also contains a section to add a written statement of no more than 500 words to support your application for a scholarship. All awards will be made on the basis of academic excellence as assessed from the student’s course application alongside the supporting written statement in the scholarship application.

Scholarships are awarded as a fee discount on the overall total fee for the programme.
