Competitive Scholarships for International Students at IUPUI in USA 2015

Applications are invited for competitive scholarships available for undergraduate students to study at Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis. Students selected for this scholarship program receive $16,000 per year for four years of study, $2,500 for a study abroad experience and a $2,500 housing stipend for International House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, for their freshman year. The application deadlines are 15 November 2014.

• The Plater International Scholars Program is designed for exceptional incoming freshmen who are committed to combining academic excellence with global citizenship. This highly competitive scholarship program is for students with an interest in international affairs and cross-cultural experiences. Plater International Scholars will be actively involved in international programming, both off and on campus. In close cooperation with the Office of International Affairs, recipients of the Plater International Scholarship will be exposed to high profile international visitors, international seminars, and lectures. Students selected for this scholarship program receive $12,000 per year for four years of study, $2,500 for a study abroad experience, and a $2,500 housing stipend for International House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, for their freshman year.

• Students selected for this scholarship program receive $16,000 per year for four years of study, $2,500 for a study abroad experience, and a $2,500 housing stipend for International House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, for their freshman year.


• Excellent SAT or ACT scores, outstanding performance in a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and international interest are required. Semi-finalists for the award must also complete an interview as the final step of the application process.


• Plater International Scholars possess a strong interest in international experiences and global awareness. In a 1000-word typed essay, discuss the importance of globalization and cross-cultural competency. How have you improved your global awareness and understanding of different cultures? As a Plater International Scholar at IUPUI, what international experiences would you like to pursue and why?

Eligibility: Highly competitive scholarship programs are for exceptional incoming freshmen who have achieved outstanding performance in a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, excellent SAT or ACT scores (for applicants for whom English is not their native language, TOEFL results) and as finalists, complete an interview as the final step in the process.
