Chevening/Glasgow Partnership Award for Masters Students in UK 2015


Applications are invited for Chevening award to undertake one year taught master degree programme. Awards are available to study within College of Arts, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, College of Science and Engineering and College of Social Science at the University of Glasgow. A Chevening-Glasgow Partnership Award includes full tuition fees for applicants who have chosen course at Glasgow; country fee caps do not apply. The application deadline is 15 November.



  • Awards are provided in any subject available within the College of Arts, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, College of Science and Engineering and College of Social Science at the University of Glasgow.

  • Awards are available for pursuing masters degree programme at the University of Glasgow.

  • Chevening UK Government and University of Glasgow is providing these Awards.


Eligibility:
-
Be a citizen of a eligible country, and intend to return there for a minimum of 2 years after your Chevening Award has finished.
-Hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper-second class (2:1) honours degree in the UK before applying.
-Have completed at least two years’ work experience before applying. This can include voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships.
-Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 15 July 2015.
-Apply to three different eligible UK university courses (unless otherwise specified in your award category).
-Not hold British citizenship or dual British citizenship, unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong.
-Not have previously studied in the UK under a UK government-funded scholarship.
-Not be an employee, relative of employee, or former employee (since July 2012) of Her Majesty’s Government (including British Embassies/High Commissions, the Department for International Development, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, UK Trade and Investment, the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office), the British Council, a partner, a sponsoring UK university, or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

  • Chevening is proud to partner with the University of Glasgow to co-fund ten Chevening/Glasgow Partnership Awards available to candidates from a selection of countries. These particular awards are being offered in addition to the main Chevening Awards. The top ten successful candidates will be offered a partnership award and all other successful candidates will receive a Chevening Award through the main programme. The University of Glasgow also welcomes candidates from all other Chevening-eligible countries.

  •  Chevening is proud to partner with the University of Glasgow to co-fund ten Chevening/Glasgow Partnership Awards.

  • Awards are offered for one-year taught master’s degree.

  • A Chevening-Glasgow Partnership Award includes full tuition fees for your chosen course at Glasgow; country fee caps do not apply. You will also receive the same allowance and stipend package as a main Chevening Award. As a Chevening/Glasgow Partnership Award recipient, you will stand to benefit from an expanding suite of unique networking and engagement opportunities offered by Chevening Partners. In addition, applying for a partnership award will increase your chances of being considered for a Chevening Award at Glasgow.

  • All candidates must visit the Apply page and select their region and country to proceed. Then there are two ways to apply for a Chevening Award to study at the University of Glasgow:

  • -Candidates from eligible countries will be given the option to select ‘Chevening/ University of Glasgow Scholarship’. This will automatically register your first university preference as the University of Glasgow. You must then select a course that you are interested in studying at Glasgow. The application form will also ask you to select two other university/course preferences. These can be at Glasgow or they can be at any other UK university.
    -Candidates from all other countries should submit an application through the standard Chevening Award programme. You must then enter the University of Glasgow as your top preference on the application form.
